Perfect for Kids

It's easy to overlook the importance of artwork as a critical component in the intellectual development of our children. After all, art isn't part of the "three R's". But many researchers have found that art enhances our children's comprehension in literature, science, and math. Art stimulates creativity, and creativity is the building block of knowledge.

Which art works the best with kids? I would argue that abstract, metaphorical art is a perfect candidate. Unlike representational photography, abstract images stimulate creativity. However, the metaphor must be clear enough for the child to comprehend. And humor helps.

The gallery below contains some of the images I feel are most appropriate for children's rooms.

This is just a sample of images appropriate for kids. You can find more in these portfolios:  Birds, Other Animals, and Marine Mammals and Fish.
